A little sock knitting
We are back from our vacation safe and sound. We were gone for 2 weeks, drove from Oregon to Michigan and back, and have our son, Preston, home. He has been gone for 2 years so it will be an adjustment to not being empty nesters again. But we are so excited to have him home with us! Tonight the four of us got together and Durant (our oldest) bought us cake and milk at Sheri’s, where he works. It was so nice being together again!
I didn’t do as much knitting as I had thought or would have liked. There were so many things to do and people to see.
Not that I’m complaining, mind you. I got to see a very dear friend whom I haven’t seen in many years. But it is one of those friendships that it doesn’t matter how long it has been, you can pick up where you left off. I’m so glad I got in contact with her again.
I did knit a pair of socks for my niece, Lydia who was kind enough to model them for me.

I also had a chance to go shopping at Hobby Lobby. I bought some cute yarn and started another pair of socks for myself. I will show them in progress in another post. I am using mercerized cotton in a green color way. I hope I’m not making a mistake knitting socks with that kind of yarn. We will see. They are cute so far.
I leave you with a picture of a sunset on Lake Michigan.
