About Me
Hi, this is the page where I have get to talk about myself. First of all, why “knitting cupcake”? Well, my dear friends and coworkers at Spectrum Health gave me the nickname of Cupcake during the 6 years I worked there. This nickname sounds sweet but it was actually given because of my squeamishness with certain things which they thought was funny given that I’m an RN. Regardless of how it came about, this nickname stuck and thus we have “Cupcake.” Now, I’m certain you have figured out the knitting part so I won’t elaborate on that, only that I love knitting and wanted a place to be able to show my progress on projects and talk about the experience of working on said projects.
Now on to the knitty-gritty as it were. I am very happily married to my husband, Dave, and we live in Milton-Freewater, Oregon with our 2 cats and a dog. We have 2 sons that areĀ 23 and 21, Durant and Preston. Durant lives about 5 miles from us and Preston moved in with us this summer. It is nice to have them close where we can do things as a family.
Most of my career has been working in Obstetrics in all the various areas and also as an IBCLC. But since graduating from nursing school I have also been an assistant girl’s dean at a boarding high school, an independent distributor for a home-based business, working at a college health service clinic, an employee wellness coordinator and as an administrative assistant/project manager for a Website & Blog Design Firm.
