Christmas Knitting
I have been knitting like mad on Christmas presents. I would like to give someone in both our immediate families something hand knit for Christmas. This might be a stretch, but I’m going to try. (Speaking of stretch, I have been doing that to my wrists with all this knitting…)
What have I been working on? First of all hats. I’m doing hats for all our niece’s and nephews. I am using the pattern from Last-Minute Knitted Gifts called Kim’s hats. I am using the new Lion Brand yarn called Vanna’s Choice. Apparently Vanna White is a crocheter and now has yarn named after her. It is acrylic which I am normally opposed to, but I think my sisters and sister-in-law might not be too happy with me if I knit hand wash only hats. And this was pretty affordable for the mass quantity I am producing.

The other project is Lace Bags from The Knitter’s Bible using a Lacy Chevron pattern. I am determined to do this project even though I have frogged it and started over 7 times now. The lace chart is not that difficult but I kept doing something wrong. It seems to be better now. The yarn I am using is Omega Sinfonia and the only link I could find was one from eBay. Hobby Lobby sells it but they don’t do internet sales, so the only place you can buy it online is eBay. My other complaint is that the yarn is very slippery and I am currently using metal needles (also something I am opposed to). When Sassy decides to chase my needles they slip right out of the stitches and makes me a little unhappy to say the least.

Well, my housework is calling. Until next time: Happy Knitting!
