Behold! A Cardigan! Now all I have to do is pick up and knit the button band and it will be done. I was so frustrated with this sweater that it lay hibernating until I could figure out what to do with it. Now I can’t wait to wear it!

I do have other things on my needles but they are gifts for some of my possible blog readers but let me give you a hint - I have 3 friends due in December…

~Happy Knitting!

I can’t believe I haven’t written a new post since March 31! I haven’t done much knitting in the last 4 months which would explain the lack of knitting blog posts. We did take a 17 day vacation in June and had a lot of fun with family. Here are some pics from that trip:

It was the 17 year Cicada Hatching and these “little” guys were everywhere around the cabin we stayed in. My mother was thrilled!

Here I am after giving my 19 year old cat, Muffett, a bath. (He actually purred through most of it.) Muffett lives with my parents in Tennessee because I couldn’t move him across the country at his age.

My nieces, Linnsey, Christian, and Katie being goofy after enjoying some Kilwins…mmmm…

I do have 2 projects on the needles right now and will post when I have them done. Thanks for your patience~

I just can’t seem to find the perfect pattern. I have scrapped the shawl collar idea and have opted to try a “normal” v-neck collar. I’ll let you know what happens.

In other knitting news, I have made a few baby things to give to some co-workers at the university. They just had a baby girl (as if you couldn’t tell by the gifts).

The hat is my own design, the booties are Christine’s Stay-On Booties and the burp cloth is the Darrell Waltrip knitted dishcloth pattern.

The other project I have going is socks called Jaywalkers. These are interesting yet easy to memorize and I am just turning the heel on the first sock.

It is good to have easy projects going when you have one that is skunking you.

I will leave you today with pictures of our calves from next door. They are the cutest little things and the most unusual color combination.

All the calves are all white except for their ears and nose which are black and a couple of them also have a black sock or two. Aren’t they cute???

Still missing Sassy…..

Happy Knitting~

Many of you have heard about our bathroom remodel. After hanging the mirror/medicine cabinet and new light fixture, I decided it was time to post before and after pictures. I am so appreciative of my dad and my husband for working so hard to make this happen. I absolutely love my new bathroom especially my new tub!

Before:

Notice the lovely floor and wall covering!

And now After:

There are a few more things to be done before the project is finished, but we are on the final stretch.

In knitting news, I’m still working on my sweater. I’ve almost finished the body. I will post pictures soon.

Because I need to do an impulse cast on occasionally, I did a little project yesterday. I saw it and couldn’t resist. My cats (especially Sassy) love to play with my yarn. I decided it was time to make them their own toy.

Ah the crazed look of a stoned kitty. We’ll see if he lets Sassy play with it. He played so hard his hair came out. Good thing tomorrow is Friday.

Have a happy weekend!

I have a few new projects that I would like to share with everyone.

The first is a linen towel for our guest bathroom. Linen is a fiber I haven’t worked with yet and it is a very interesting one. I like the feel of it in my hands even though it is a little stiff. I understand that the more it is washed the softer it will get. The pattern is a little fussy so I can only do it for small periods of time before I get irritated with the counting. This is the Moss Grid Hand Towel from Mason Dixon Knitting.

Sorry this picture is a little dark and slightly blurry. Surprisingly, it was the best of the two that I took.

The second thing I am working on is baby booties. Everyone I know that is having a baby is having a boy. I haven’t made any baby booties yet so I embarked this weekend when I needed a mindless project. I think these are turning out to be pretty cute. This pattern is Christine’s Stay-On Baby Booties.

I finally got around to felting the slippers I was working on. I used Cascade 220 for these and it felted very differently than the Patons Merino. They are very cute and I am keeping them. How terrible is that??

And last, but definitely not least, I started a sweater for me!! I am so excited about this project. Someone very near and dear to me sent me a donation for my sweater so that I could buy the yarn. The yarn is Cascade Eco Wool in Silver and it is beautiful. I am doing a ribbed pullover with a shawl collar. We will see about the collar because I have never done one before and don’t really have a pattern for one. But I’m sure I can figure something out. Here is what the yarn looks like.

It is undyed Highland Peruvian 100% Wool. There is some black in with the silver that makes it so unique. It is a soft wool and will be even softer when I wash it in Eucalan.

I hope everyone is surviving February.

~Happy Knitting!

Today I pulled out some knitting I had forgotten from before Christmas. I was happy to see that there were a couple things I could finish. I picked them up and got some things done.

I had started another felted slipper project called Fuzzy Feet . These are the slippers I made for my parents. They report that the slippers are very warm and my parents wear them all the time. I got the grayish yarn on clearance at Knitochet. I decided that I wasn’t crazy about the color but when combined with the pink it was a pretty cool 80’s thing. I finished one of the slippers today.

I had to take advantage of the snow today for my background. I am loving the snow!!

I finished another project but won’t post the picture until the gift is given.

Another project finished is the Monkey socks I started in September. Once I worked on them, they went faster than I remembered and I really love these socks. I am looking forward to wearing them soon!

This picture was taken to show that while Davy was working hard on his Pre-Calculus, I was able to work on these socks.

The last thing I finished today was an impulse cast on. I was looking for a star to knit and I found one on Ravelry. It is meant to be a Christmas ornament but I wanted to use it for another project. It ended up being too big for the project I wanted it for so it will end up being a Christmas ornament.

There are my updates. What do you think?

I put the final touches on Davy’s sweater this week and it is completely done. I am so happy with it and the best part is so is he! He even wears it around the house with sweatpants because he thinks it is cozy and warm. He was home during daylight for the first time this week and I took the opportunity to take some pictures of him wearing his sweater. There are a few different poses so that you can get a good idea of what the sweater looks like.

Isn’t he handsome??

I also finished the Rainy Day Scarf and I’m almost done with the Baby Kimono. Here is a picture of the scarf.

Sassy had to be involved in the picture taking outside. This was our favorite!
