Slow Progress
I’m beginning to think I should join the Slogalon with the miter rug I am trying to finish. To be honest, I dread knitting on this so much I have actually considered frogging the whole thing and having enough dishcloth yarn to open my own shop. I know if I hang in there I can get it done. I only have 3 squares to go!
Part of my problem is that cotton makes my hands and wrists hurt when I knit with it for extended periods of time and having to do things like knit two together. The other problem is that I am frustrated and embarrassed by its gargantuan size caused by the fact that I didn’t knit a gauge swatch. The rug in the original pattern is so beautiful and stylish and I’m afraid that I have knit an obnoxious monstrosity. I am also trying to figure out what to do to make the edges look neat instead of all over the place.
Here is the updated picture to let you know where I am.

The second project I’m blogging about tonight is my cotton sock that I started on vacation. I think I should frog this one as well and do a rib pattern down the leg. I think it will fit better because cotton tends to stretch. Or I might change my mind and not knit a sock out of it at all. Here is a picture of the progress made thus far.

In case you didn’t notice, I am feeling a little discouraged with my knitting right now. What I really want to do is put these things in the closet and forget about them for a while. I have a baby gift I need to start and other things that seem much more appealing right now. My wrists are also begging for wool!!
I will quit whining for now and bribe myself with the other projects if I can finish ONE of the four I have in progress.
