Sweater Knitting
I am slowly working on the log cabin blanket and have decided where to stop. Now I just need to decide whether to put a back and trim on it. I was thinking of adding a nice baby flannel back with a silk-y trim sewn around the edge. I hate doing hand sewing but it is my understanding that machine sewing hand-knits is a no-no. We will see. I don’t usually obey all the rules.
As far as the title to this post goes. I just saw something on Ravelry that caught my eye. It is called NaKniSweMo. Here is an explanation from the site:
How it works with NaNoWriMo: write a 50,000-word novel in a month. As they say on that page: “This is not as scary as it sounds.”
How it works with NaKniSweMo: knit a 50,000-stitch sweater in a month. If you divide your chosen sweater pattern’s rows or rounds by 30, you’ll have an idea of how many rows you need to knit each day to make it. Yes, the stitch count thing is crazy, but I think I can say with confidence that most sweaters out there are at least that, or more.
I’m going to do The Perfect Sweater by Mandy Moore and Ann Shayne. I will use Cascade 220 probably superwash although I haven’t decided on that or the color. I am excited about this project since I failed miserably at NaNoWriMo even though I have a friend who has done it TWICE! I’m a much better knitter than I am a writer!
Next time: pictures with updates.
