What I Did On My Thanksgiving Vacation
It has been a while since my last post. Time flies when you are having fun and are very busy. My parents have been here from Tennessee for almost a month and we have loved having them here. It was with a heavy heart that I took them to the airport this morning.
One of the first things I want to show you are the “Mystery Christmas Gifts” I was working on. They were for my parents for Christmas so I didn’t want to spoil their surprise. I made them both Fuzzy Feet with Patons Merino Wool. After receiving them, my dad expressed concern with them wearing out. So, I went to my LYS and bought leather bottoms to sew on. Here are the finished products.

Don’t they make great models?
The latest thing I’m working on isn’t knitting. I can’t believe it, but I am re-learning how to crochet. I was taught by a dear friend, Connie Teachworth, when I was in college. I found that picking it up was easier than I thought. My mom brought me an afghan that my great-aunt started and didn’t want to finish. So before I tackled that one I wanted to cut my teeth on something else. When my sister-in-law was injured in a terrible accident, it seemed that the thing to do would be to start an afghan for her. I figured she could use a little comfort. Here is my first big crochet project.
I’m doing SusanB’s Easy Ripple Afghan in Bernat Softee Chunky and Lion Brand Jiffy. It was fun to work on during the drive to Seattle and back. A future post will be on my likes and dislikes of crochet.
Until then ~Happy Knitting!
